ABOUT
Lydia’s tearoom is an initiative by Chadderton Together, first opened in July 2021 we have gone from strength-to-strength and the tearoom is now thriving.
Chadderton Together had to show funding streams that we can sustain a business whilst the surplus profits from the tearoom go into the renovation of Foxdenton Hall. In the first year of operation Pure Innovation took the lead and ran the tearoom Monday - Friday using there clients to help train in hospitality sector whilst a team of committed volunteers were on hand, with Pure Innovations help and guidance in September 2021 we achieved a food stand rating of 5 stars. Unfortunately, Pure Innovation was unable to continue in providing a service and had to withdraw there support.
We now have a management team in place with 3 volunteers from the committee, we have also 3 paid supervisors who run the tearoom Wednesday - Sunday alongside a growing number of volunteers.

THE HISTORY OF LYDIA'S TEAROOM
Update 4: The End Is In Sight
We recently posted on Facebook a video of the tearoom being almost complete.
Thank you for your very positive comments about the work carried out to create Lydia’s Tearoom. I will certainly pass these on to the contractors / builders and rest of the team including the architect and volunteers of Chadderton Together who have worked very hard to raise the funds and successfully manage the project. We open on 31st July on Chadderton Day which runs from 12-4pm. Best wishes, Karl Cockram Chairman of Chadderton Together |

The Lydia Becker Tearoom
Chadderton Together are delighted to be able to announce that the renovation of the Pavilion in Foxdenton Park has begun.
The work is being funded through grants from Viridor Credits, Heritage Lottery, Action Oldham and Oldham Council. The contractors who are carrying out the work are Lichfield Construction Ltd |
When open this new facility will be known as LYDIA'S TEAROOM In honour of Lydia Ernestine Becker, suffragette and scientist who lived for a time in Foxdenton Hall.
For more information on Lydia Becker please visit Chadderton Historical Society
The new facility will house a cafe / meeting room and toilets open to the public.
It is anticipated that the building will become a focal point for community groups and also be used by members of the public visiting the park.
This is an exciting venture. The opportunities it will present for the residents of Chadderton and beyond are endless.
